Automobiles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.

Police then found multiple other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for tips.

An important political figure commented the incident rendered him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in 2020.
